In order to boost the Ivorian agricultural sector, the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production launched a series of meetings to attract strategic partners in Côte d'Ivoire. The meeting with the delegation of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is part of this dynamic. The two parties reviewed the portfolio of agricultural projects likely to mobilize the resources of the multilateral institution, with a view to structural and sustainable strengthening of the sector.

This hearing takes place in a context of already well-established partnership between Abidjan and the IDB. Indeed, last March, the Ivorian Council of Ministers ratified a financing agreement of 104.2 million euros (or more than 68.35 billion FCFA) dedicated to the Rice Value Chain Development Project (PDCVR). This project aims in particular to develop hydro-agricultural sites, to support the production of improved seeds and to modernize the processing of paddy, with the aim of significantly reducing the country's dependence on rice imports. sees the partnership with the IDB as a major financial lever to accelerate this change.
