WFP - MINADERPV: creation of a joint team for agriculture and nutrition
10 days ago, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Bruno Nabagné Koné, received a delegation from the World Food Program (WFP), led by its country director, Olivia Hantz. This hearing marked an important step in strengthening cooperation between the Ivorian government and the UN agency. The discussions made it possible to review national agricultural priorities and identify potential synergies between the two institutions, particularly in terms of nutrition and support for local production. The WFP, whose interventions in Côte d'Ivoire cover several areas ranging from emergency food aid to school canteen programs, now intends to strengthen its anchoring in sustainable agricultural development policies. At the end of the meeting, the Minister announced the creation of a joint Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production (MINADERPV) - PAM team, responsible for defining the strategic axes of their cooperation. This institutional initiative reflects Abidjan's desire to more effectively coordinate national and international interventions to improve the food security of the Ivorian population.
