When the silos meet the quays, an entire port ecosystem is reinvented. It is in this logic that Kassoum Traoré, General Director of the Autonomous Port of Abidjan (PAA), recently granted an audience to a delegation from Grands Moulins d'Abidjan (GMA), led by François Menenteau, Deputy General Director, accompanied by Safiatou Coulibaly, Legal Manager. This meeting is part of the dynamic of permanent consultation initiated by the PAA with the main actors of the Abidjan Port Community, of which the GMA constituting a long-standing member are at the heart of the platform. The discussions allowed both parties to take stock of the GMA Group's development projects and to examine the prospects for collaboration likely to support the growth of port activities.

At the heart of the discussions was in particular the extension of the GMA Group's port storage capacities, as well as the investments necessary to support the evolution of logistics flows. This subject is not new. Indeed, upon the arrival of Seaboard Corporation at the head of the milling group, the company had already stated its intention to expand its production and storage capacities in Abidjan. The context is also buoyant, with the port's global traffic having jumped by 16.1% in 2025, reaching 46.6 million tonnes, which increases the pressure on existing storage infrastructures.

Thus, this hearing confirms the PAA's desire to maintain close dialogue with its industrial partners to sustainably support the competitiveness of the logistics hub Abidjan.
