Waste management for a country is very important, due to its polluting nature. And the Minister of Hydraulics, Sanitation and Sanitation, Dr Amédé Koffi Kouakou, understood this well. Welcomed by the Director General of the National Waste Management Agency (ANAGED), Sarrahn Teinin Ouattara, the Minister was keen to immerse himself directly in the operational realities of the agency, on June 10, 2026. He spoke with the technical teams and was interested in their working conditions, a sign of the attention paid by the government to the human capital of this strategic structure.

This approach is a continuation of the actions undertaken by the ministry since the start of the year. Already in March 2026, the Minister had inspected the entire waste treatment circuit in Greater Abidjan, noting that the metropolis generates nearly 5,000 tonnes of household waste daily. He paid tribute to the mobilization of agents on the ground. This exhortation reflects the government's desire to intensify efforts, in a city whose waste management needs are estimated at 18 billion FCFA per year.

Sustainable waste management thus remains a declared national priority, to which ANAGED provides a concrete response every day on the ground.
