Inaugurated in the presence of representatives of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the German Embassy, ​​the “Drone Center” of the Interregional Maritime Security Institute (ISMI) constitutes a concrete response to the security challenges weighing on the waters of the Gulf of Guinea. Equipped with the latest generation technologies, this center will make it possible to monitor maritime areas, fight against piracy, illegal fishing, cross-border trafficking and marine pollution. The inauguration ceremony closed with a flight demonstration in real conditions, illustrating the operational precision of these devices.

Project led by UNITAR and jointly financed by German Cooperation and the Ivorian Government, the Drone Center also benefits from the support ofUnited Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC). This partnership architecture illustrates the multilateral dimension of the initiative and anchors Côte d'Ivoire in international security and training standards. Beyond the maritime aspect, the center aims to train both private sector players and young people in the civil applications of drones, in areas such as precision agriculture, construction, mining, energy and logistics.  0);">
