As part of the extension of the official launch of negotiations for the Agreement on the Facilitation of Sustainable Investments (AFID), initiated on July 17, 2026 between Côte d'Ivoire and the European Union, the Center for the Promotion of Investments in Côte d'Ivoire (CEPICI) welcomed a European delegation led by Jorge Vitorino. The meeting was held in a climate of technical dialogue preceding the formal opening of discussions on this new economic cooperation instrument.

During the discussions, Ivorian officials presented the main reforms undertaken to improve the country's attractiveness to international investors. Among the projects cited are the digitalization of administrative services, the simplification of investment procedures and the continuous improvement of the business environment, areas already highlighted during previous partnership dialogues between Abidjan and Brussels. These advances reinforce the position of the European Union, an important economic partner of Côte d'Ivoire.

Thus, the two parties reaffirmed their common desire to build more responsible, more transparent investments that create value for the populations, in the continuity of open discussions between the Ivorian government and the European Union. This meeting confirms the mutual commitment on both sides to make AFID a lever for inclusive economic development for Côte d'Ivoire.
